Padubidri: Woman killed, another injured after car rams pedestrians near temple

Padubidri, May 9, 2026: A woman was killed and another injured after a car rammed into two women waiting to cross the road near the divider in front of the Uchila Mahalakshmi Temple in Padubidri on Friday night.

The deceased has been identified as Mamatha (40), a resident of Sastana, who died on the spot due to severe injuries.

According to reports, the two women were standing near the divider while attempting to cross from the eastern side of the highway to the western side when the car hit them. The injured woman has been admitted to a hospital in Udupi for treatment.

Padubidri Police have registered a case.
