Pachanady fire doused; thick smoke still pervades area

Mangaluru, Mar 15, 2023: The fire that was raging at Pachanady dumping yard since the past few days has finally been doused on March 14, Tuesday. However, the residents of the vicinity are still facing problems with a thick smoke covering the surrounding areas.

 

As many as five fire tender vehicles, four JCBs, 10 tippers and 10 tankers were pressed into service to douse  the fire. MCC Commissioner Channabasappa said efforts were made to reduce the smoke by sprinkling water and mud at the site.
