PaGo conferred on Narendra Marasanige of Vijayavani

Mangaluru, Mar 29, 2023: The prestigious PaGo Award given by the DK District Working Journalists Union, was conferred on Vijayavani daily’s Hebri reporter Narendra Marasanige at a function held on March 28, Tuesday. The Award carries a cash prize of Rs 10,000 citation and a memento. Narendra was selected for the Award for his special report "Mathavige Mathyavaga Sethuve."

 

MESCOM Technical Director Ramesh conferred the Award. Speaking after receiving the Award, Narendra said Mathavu is a very remote area deprived of basic amenities like good road. One has to struggle to  reach this place during six months of monsoon. To add to the problem it is a Naxal hit area. The assurance given  towards building a bridge to this village has still not been fulfilled, he said.

Senior journalist Srikara  L Bhandarkar was the chief guest. DK Working Journalists’ Union President Srinivas Nayak Indaje, General Secretary Jithendra Kundeshwar, Vice President Bhasker Rai Katta, Executive Committee Member Muhammad Arif Padubidri and others were present.
