PaGo Award presented to Rajesh Shetty Dota

Mangaluru, May 24, 2025: Vijayavani Senior Deputy Editor Rajesh Shetty Dota has been selected for the prestigious PaGo Award given by the D.K. District Working Journalists Association.

The special report titled "A cry for help in the thicket, an indigenous family needs humanitarian care" published in Vijayavani newspaper on December 26, 2024, has been selected for the award.

Retired local editor of Vijayakarnataka newspaper U.K. Kumaranath, writer Bhaskara Rai Kukkuvalli, and journalism lecturer Sushmita were on the selection committee. The award consists of Rs. 10,001 in cash, a plaque, and a memento, said Jitendra Kundeshwara, general secretary of the Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists’ Association, in a release.

Introduction: Resident of Vamadapadavu, Bantwal taluk. Postgraduate degree in Mass Communication and Journalism. After ’Prajavani’, he has been working in the editorial department of ’Vijayavani’ for 11 years. His areas of interest are literature, environment, art. Two Tulu works have been released. He has received the Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy Book Award.

Award Presentation: The award presentation ceremony will be held at Mangalore Patrika Bhavan on May 24 at 11 am. Karnataka Information Commission Chairman Badruddin K. will present the award. Information Department Senior Assistant Director Khader Shah will participate as the chief guest. Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists Association President Srinivas Nayak Indaje will preside, Press Club President P.B. Harish Rai, Patrika Bhavan Trust President Ramakrishna R. will be present as honorary guests.
