PFI condemns hate speech case registered against Chishti

Mangalore, Nov 8, 2012 : The Popular Front of India (PFI) has condemned the case registered against Ajmer Sharif Dargah Syed Sarwar Chishti for allegedly delivering a hate speech at a PFI meeting.

Addressing the press at Hotel Woodlands today, PFI committee member Abdul Razak Kemmara said that the police have registered a case under Section 153 (A) of the Indian Penal Code against Chishti for allegedly delivering an inflammatory speech on Nehru Maidan on Nov 2.

Chishti’s speech was considered to be offensive and capable of promoting enmity, ill-will, and hatred between the two communities. Rubbishing these allegations, Mr. Kemmara said that Chisti is noted for his harmonious speeches and that he has delivered speeches all over the world.

Chishti had stated that all Indian Muslims would become terrorists if Gujarath CM Narendra Modi became the prime minister of India. Recalling this statement, Mr. Kemmara said that no one would tolerate it even if he becomes CM.


Mr. Kemmara was accompanied by Atha-ullah M. A., P. Abdul Khader, Abdul Majeed, and Riyaz Farangipet.
