
Subrahmanya, Dec 17, 2012: Over 350 devotees offered the controversial roll over ritual- Madesnana seve at the famous Kukke Sri Subrahmanya Temple on December 16, Sunday as part of the three day Shashti Mahotsava celebrations at the Temple. The ritual was held smoothly amid tight security in the wake of the recent Supreme Court ruling staying an earlier order of the state High Court to offer the Seve with certain modifications as suggested by the state government. Four DySPs, over 100 Home guards and 50 Temple security personnel were on security duty, while CC cameras also kept a strict eye right from Kashi Katte upto the temple outer precincts.

Puttur Assistant Commissioner Prasanna and Sullia Tahsildar Vaidyanath are also camping in Subrahmanya. The Madesnana was offered after the noon Mahapooja followed by Anna Santarpane in the temple outer yards.
The ritual wherein devotees roll over leftover food on plantain leaves after Brahmins have food, will be offered also on Monday (today ) being Panchami and on December 18, Shashti Day. Temple authorities expect over 1500 devotees to offer this Seve.
Yathi Bhikshe : Yathi Bhikshe and Pada Pooja was offered to Sri Vidya Prasanna Theertha Swamiji of Subrahmanya Mutt on December 16, Sunday for the very first time on behalf of the Temple.
Pallakki Utsav and Bandi Utsav were held in the outer precincts of the temple while there was a Hoovina Therina Utsav at Carstreet.
