Over 10,000 students attend job fair Alva’s Pragati-2013

Moodbidri, May 12, 2013: The sixth job fair Alva’s Pragati-2013 saw a record footfall of over 10,000 job aspirants  on May 11, Saturday. The two-day fair was inaugurated by Sudhir Shetty, COO Global Operations, UAE Exchange and   Amarnath Shetty, former MLA at Alva’s College, Moodbidri.

Top companies from different sectors including  IBM, Fortis, L&T, Taj Group, ICICI Bank, TVS, Suzlon, Mphasis, TAFE, Axis Bank, Gold Finch, Xchanging, Titan, Videocon, Fabtech, Aditya Birla group and UAE Exchange had registered for the job fair and there are over 7000 openings.

Dr M Mohan Alva, Chairman of Alva’s Foundation, who presided over the function said students from across the state can take part in the job fair.

Sudhir Shetty who also spoke  said a job aspirant should not bank on his academic achievements, but should have the sincerity and commitment to give his very best if selected.

Vivek Alva, Managing trustee of Alva’s Education Foundation said 10356 students participated in the job fair which will continue even on May 12, Sunday.
