One killed, three injured in bus-lorry collision in Perne

Uppinangady, August 18, 2024: In a tragic accident early Saturday morning, a private bus and a mini lorry transporting vegetables collided at Amai in Perne village. The collision resulted in the death of Arjun Singh (32), the driver of the mini lorry, and left three others injured.

The private bus, which was en route from Mangalore to Bangalore, collided head-on with the mini lorry coming from the opposite direction. Arjun Singh sustained severe injuries in the crash and was rushed to Mangalore Government Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The bus driver, Parshwanath, along with passengers Pavan Kumar (40) and Brahmi (10), also sustained injuries and were admitted to various hospitals for treatment.

A case has been registered at the Puttur Traffic Police Station, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
