One Killed, Two Seriously Injured in KSRTC Bus–Omni Car Collision Near Vitla

Vitla, Dec 14, 2025: One person was killed and two others sustained serious injuries in a road accident involving a KSRTC bus and an Omni car at Muliya near Peruwayi, under the limits of the Vitla police station, on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Monappa Kullal, the driver of the Omni car and a resident of Mayira. His wife, Lalitha, and another passenger, Ramani, who were travelling with him, suffered serious injuries and were shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru by ambulance.

The accident occurred when the Omni car, travelling from Vitla towards Peruwayi, collided head-on with a KSRTC bus coming from Pakalakunja towards Vitla at Muliya. The impact of the collision completely mangled the car.

All three occupants of the Omni car sustained severe injuries in the mishap, and Monappa Kullal later succumbed to his injuries.

Vitla police rushed to the spot and have taken up investigation into the incident.
