Omicron confirmed in 2 from Mangaluru who returned from S Africa

Mangaluru, Jan 01, 2022: Two persons of Mangaluru origin who had arrived in Bengaluru from South Africa have tested positive for Omicron. The two who tested   positive during the RT-PCR test at the airport were admitted to a hospital and their throat samples sent for genome sequencing.

 

The two are undergoing treatment in Bengaluru itself and their primary contacts are also being traced and tested, health officials said.
