Old tree in Jeppu uproots in rain

Mangalore, June 7, 2012 : An old tree, nearly a century old, was uprooted in the heavy rains near Jeppu Railway Crossing early in the morning of June 7, Thursday.

 

 

 

The local people say that the leveling work done for a residential building close by led to soil erosion and caused the uprooting of the tree. Fortunately, nobody was around when the tree collapsed.

The heavy rains also destroyed a house in Kopparige at night.
