Okuli Habba celebrated in great enthusiasm in conclusion of Car Festival

Mangalore, January 31: Okuli’ or festival of colors was celebrated with full zest at Carstreet in Mangalore on Tuesday, January 31, in conclusion of the six day annual car festival of Sri Venkatramana Temple here. Thousands of G.S.B men, women and children joined along with friends  swarmed Car Street and the surrounding areas,  dancing on the streets and spraying coloured water on each other

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On Tuesday morning from  9.00 am to 3.00pm, large number of devotees have assembled in the main car street of the temple to take part in the Okuli Habba.

The revellers moved around beating drums, splashing colours, singing and dancing. Young people dance to the loud music pumped in through high wattage systems as Lord Venkatramana and Goddess Padmavathi are on the first journey of their wedded life.

Thus the six day annual Car festival of the famous Venkatrama temple , Mangalore ends today with colourful okuli festival.
