Officials directed to prevent moral policing activities: Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake

Kundapur, Oct 16, 2013: Urban development and district in-charge minister Vinay Kumar Sorake said that the concerned authorities have directed to prevent the moral policing activities but even if little association takes law in hand, the officials will be made responsible.


He was speaking at the Kundapur Jadkal level beneficiaries and community based associations convention 2013 held to mark the 30th anniversary by Dakshina Kannada Rural development society, Beltangady at St George church hall on October 16, Tuesday.

He also said that because of 0.1% miscreants in society, the social harmony of 99.99 % people is disturbed. The state is making an effort to prevent it.


He also said that people from Kerala who come to the state are not considered as refugees, but they too are the citizen of the state. Their contribution in the field of education, culture, agricultural and social sector is enormous.
Jeevan Jyothi Taluk Okkuta handed over a memorandum to the minister demanding to stop selling of illegal liquor, introduce KSRTC bus via Kollur-Mudoor-Siddapur road, construction of an auditorium, and establish a Karnataka Vikasa Grameena bank branch and others.


Beltangady diocese Bishop Lawrence Mukkai presided over the event. DKRDS director Fr Jose Aayakudi briefed on the association works.


Zilla panchayat member Supreetha Shetty, Taluk panchayat member Raju Poojary, Jadkal gram panchayat president, Gracy Joseph, Minie Jacob, and others were present.
