Odiyoor Seer calls for united fight against Netravathi Diversion Project

Uppinangady, Jan 25, 2014: The  Action Committee against Netravathi Diversion  Project  staged a unique protest  in the Kumaradhara River at Uppinangady on January 24, Friday.

Sri Gurudevananda Swamiji of Sri Kshetra Odiyoor participated in the protest  and offered Ksheera Dhare or a milk offering to the river and pledged to fight unitedly against the project.

Speaking on the occasion, the seer stressed the need for people to launch a  movement by sinking all differences of caste and  creed and ensure that the government dropped this project which will have catastrophic effect on the  sensitive ecology of the coastal region.

Kaje Eshwar Bhat, MG Hegde, Dr Niranjan Rai,  TP Member Umesh Shenoy, ZP member Keshav Gowda, UT Irshad, Dr Rajaram, Vasanth Kumar Taltaje and others were present.
