Mangalore, Oct 19, 2012: Ocean Kids, a dance troupe based in Mangalore, has been selected for the semi-final round of India’s Got Talent, a popular talent hunting contest broadcast on the TV channel Colours.
Addressing the press on Oct 19, Friday, Pramod Alva, chief choreographer of Ocean Kids, said that the team has impressed the judges with its 3-minute ballet on the theme of Navadurga.
The Ocean Kids team will present another mythological ballet on Ramayan, in which they will depict scenes from Sita’s exile to her kidnapping in just 3 minutes and 15 seconds, for the semi final round, which will be shown on Colours on Sunday at 10:00 p.m. The team comprises 33 dancers from Ocean Kids.
He said that 3000 of the total 35,000 contestants who entered this show were shortlisted and the best 37 troupes were chosen and divided into three sets of 7 contestants each.
Further, he said that they had presented concepts such as “Historic Shakuntala,” “Five Elements,” “Women Power,” “Agori,” and “Ramanyan” to the judges, and the judges had selected the Ramayan.
Mr. Alva urged Mangaloreans to vote for the team by texting OCE to 56882 on Sunday from 10:00 p.m. to 10:00 a.m.
Gautham, Swapna, Vijeth Nayak, and Girish were also present at the press conference.
