No question of SIT probe into washroom video case now: CM Siddaramaiah

Mangaluru, Aug 01, 2023: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has said that the question of handing over the Udupi washroom video case to the SIT does not arise as a suo moto FIR has been registered and the case is being investigated by a DySP rank officer.

 

Speaking to media persons in Mangaluru, Siddaramaiah said suitable action would be taken once the investigation report is out.

On incidents of moral policing, the Chief Minister said the police officials have been instructed to initiate strict action against anyone taking law into their hands.

On the Sowjanya rape and murder case, the chief minister said the parents of Sowjanya as well as activists have sought a fresh investigation. He said the case would be studied as to what next steps could be taken. He said as per law, appeal can be filed before a higher court.

On a question referring to the laxity in probe by police officials, he said he would study the judgment.
