Bengaluru, July 3, 2025: A team of final-year students from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) at Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, Bengaluru, has clinched First Place at the prestigious Matrix University Awards 2025.

The award was presented during the 10th edition of the Matrix Global Summit, held on July 1 and 2. The team’s project, *“Empowering Mobility through Adaptive EV for Disabled People,”* emerged as the best among over 70 entries submitted by teams from institutions across Karnataka and neighbouring states.

Guided by Dr. Shefali Jagwani, the student innovators — Pratham Tamse, Sarvesh Bhat, Sankalp Dalvi, and Sumathi B, all in their 8th semester — were lauded for their creative and socially impactful approach to inclusive electric mobility. Their adaptive electric vehicle design, aimed at improving transportation options for persons with disabilities, received widespread appreciation from industry experts and judges.

The winning team was awarded a cash prize of ₹40,000, along with a mentorship opportunity from leading EV entrepreneurs. They have also been granted a one-year membership with TiE Bangalore, providing valuable exposure to the startup ecosystem.

Nitte University hailed the achievement as a testament to the department’s dedication to innovation and socially responsible engineering.
