Nine-day Novena commences at St Lawrence Church, Bondel

Mangaluru, Aug 1,2017 :  The unfurling of the St Lawrence Flag at the St Lawrence Church at Bondel marked the commencement of the  nine-day Novena prior to the annual feast of the Church on August 1, Tuesday.

Mangaluru Mayor Kavitha Sanil had the honour of hoisting the flag.  Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor said the fact that the  great Church comes under her ward was a matter of pride for her. 

The Novena was inaugurated by Vicar Judiciary of Mangalore Diocese Fr Walter D’Mello.

The Novena began with the Eucharistic celebration  with Fr Walter D’Mello as the main celebrant.

Deputy Mayor Rajaneesh Kapikad, former mayors Mahabala Maarla, Harinath,   Corporators Deepak Poojary, Madhukrishna, Parish Priest Fr Andrew D’Souza, Assistant Priest Fr Vinod Lobo, resident Priest Fr Leo Veigas and many others were present.
