Newly wedded couples make time to cast their valuable vote

Udupi, May 6, 2013 :  The right to vote which each and every major citizen of this nation has, should not be allowed to  go in vain. On May 5, several senior citizens including a centenarian woman cast their vote thereby setting an example to youngsters not to be averse voting.

May 5 being also an auspicious day there were several weddings in the district and it was welcome to see several newly wedded couples also making time to cast their valuable votes.

In Kaup, Naufal, a software engineer exercised his franchise at the local polling booth, while Sandeep Shetty  whose marriage was scheduled to take place at Ammani Ramanna Shetty auditorium also cast his vote and then returned to the wedding hall for the celebrations.

Earlier in the morning Shaila D’Silva who was to enter wedlock on May 5, voted at the Nirmala High School prior to the wedding ceremony.
