New senior citizens’ home inaugurated in city

Mangalore, Mar 3, 2012: Gokarna Mutt Swamiji Shri Shri Vidhyadhiraja Teertha Vader inaugurated the Rs. 5 crore worth Poorna Prajna Vasathi Nilaya, a home for the aged, which has been newly constructed in Car Street. 


The newly constructed home is well-equipped with all modern facilities and can comfortably shelter 100 people.

Initially, the swamiji was brought to the venue in a grand procession. The beginning of the inaugural ceremony was marked by Vedic rituals. 


The chief guest of the event was Shri Shrinivasa Dempo of Dempo Group of Industries, located in Goa. N. Yogish Bhat, the deputy speaker of the legislative assembly; S. Prabhakar Kamath, the proprietor of Ideal Ice Cream Parlour; and many other prominent people were present on the occasion. 


The swamiji felicitated all those who were responsible for the construction of this senior citizens’ home. He then delivered the benedictory address, in which he expressed his happiness that such a facility for senior citizens could be constructed in Mangalore.
