New Konkani law book Kanoon Divo released

Mangalore, Dec 15, 2011 : Kanoon Divo, a law book in Konkani written by advocate Stanley R. D’Costa, was released by Vicar General Fr. Denis Moras at Press Club today. This is the third book of its kind in Konkani.

S. P. Chengappa, the president of the Mangalore Bar Association, who was present on the occasion, said that India has around 800 laws and Konkani-speaking people might find it difficult to understand law books written in Hindi, Kannada, and English, but they will easily be able to understand books written in Konkani.

The new law book contains information regarding 30 laws, including bill on sexual harassment at the workplace, family court, criminal punishment case law, and so on.

Basti Vaman Shenoy and Stanley R. D’Costa were also present.
