Kundapur, Mar 23, 2013 : Suspected Naxal Saroja who is facing charges of involving in Naxal activities in the Western Ghat area, has been acquitted of all charges against her. She was produced before the Kundapur court on March 22, Friday amid tight police security.
The court acquitted her in the last pending case against her. Earlier, of the ten cases against her, she was absolved in nine cases, for want of evidences. Advocate Prakashchandra Hegde had taken up the case for Saroja.
Saroja hailing from Koppa has been in jail for the past four years, She was arrested by the Shimoga police from Soraba along with one Devendra (37) and was later handed over to the custody of the Udupi police in 2010 for the cases relating to Amasebail and Shankernarayana police station limits.
In all, 22 cases had been registered against Devendra and Saroja in courts in Udupi and Karkala and of them they have already been acquitted in 21 cases.
Sources revealed that one case is pending hearing against her in the Udupi court.
