Navarathri concludes with grand procession at Shri Venkatramana Temple

Mangalore, October 7: The immersion of the idol of Goddess Sharada marked the end of the 10-day Navarathri festival at Shri Venkataramana Temple on Car Street Mangalore on Oct 7 Friday. 

The idol of the goddess was taken on a grand procession from Venkataramana Temple to Mahamayi Lake through Gaddekeri, Dongarakeri, New Chitra Theatre, Lower Car Street, and Upper Car Street.

 

 

 

 

 

The Sharada Mahotsava Committee has been organizing this event for the past 89 years. This year, the worship of Goddess Sharada commenced on Oct 3 Sunday and ended on Oct 7 Friday.

The committee also organized a number of cultural events in the temple premises in the evenings. 

The procession was accompanied by a number of tableaux, Huli Vesha teams, musical troups and Nasik Bands.
