National-level arts festival Art Beat commences at St. Aloysius College

Mangalore, Feb 3, 2012 : Art Beat, the national inter-collegiate art festival organized by the faculty of arts at St. Aloysius College, commenced on Feb 3 Friday.

Based on the theme of “Greenomania,” the event conveys the message of creating an ideal world by protecting and preserving the environment and natural resources.

T. N. S. Murthy, the deputy chairman of NMPT, was the chief guest of the event. B. S. Karkera, the chairman of MSEZ, was the guest of honor. Fr. Joseph Rodrigues, the rector of St. Aloysius Institutions, presided.

Over 15 colleges are participating in this event, which comprises events such as ad making, photography, mime, street play, graffiti, wealth out of waste, movie spoof, instrumentals, best contender, PPT-Painting, gaming, quiz, best personality, debate, and dance.


The valedictory ceremony of this festival will be held on Feb 4, with District-in-charge Minister Krishna J. Palemar as the chief guest and C. D. Kumar, the senior environment officer, as the guest of honor. Principal Fr. Swebert D’Silva will preside.
