National Lok Adalat settles over 3.04 lakh cases in Dakshina Kannada

Mangaluru, July 14, 2026: A total of 3,04,904 cases were settled through mutual conciliation during the National Lok Adalat held across Dakshina Kannada district on Saturday.

According to the Dakshina Kannada District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), 2,665 pending court cases and 3,02,239 pre-litigation cases were resolved during the Lok Adalat.

The second National Lok Adalat of the year was organised at the district and taluk levels under the directions of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority (KSLSA).

The Lok Adalat took up a wide range of matters, including property disputes, money recovery cases, suits filed under the Specific Relief Act, motor accident claims, maintenance cases, restitution of conjugal rights, family disputes, compoundable criminal cases, cheque bounce cases, and various pre-litigation disputes.

A total of 32 Lok Adalat benches were constituted across the district. Of the 57,510 pending court cases, 8,973 cases were identified as suitable for settlement through conciliation, and 2,665 cases were successfully resolved.

In a statement, the Dakshina Kannada District Legal Services Authority said the successful disposal of 3,04,904 cases was made possible through the coordinated efforts of judges, conciliators, advocates, litigants, and court staff.
