Nandigudde Koragajjana Katte desecration case : 62 year old man arrested

Mangaluru, Dec 29, 2021: Police have arrested a 62 year old man  in connection with the case of  dropping objectionable items in the donation boxes of  religious places in the city and its outskirts.The arrested man is Devadas Desai (62), a resident of Kotekar Kondana. He  hails from Hubballi but has been residing in Mangaluru for the past 24 years.

Police said he has admitted to have committed such acts in as many as 18 places including the most recent case of dropping a used condom at Nandigudde Koragajjana Katte on December 28.

Police said  the accused has admitted during interrogation regarding the acts of trying to  harm the sanctity of 18 religious places including  the Koragajjana Katte at Marnamikatte, Kondana Daivasthana,  offertory box near the rickshaw park close by Kadri shrine, Kallurti Daivasthana, near Omega Hospital, Daivasthana at Pumpwell, Kallurti shrine at Kottara Chowki, offertory box at Urva Marigudi shrine, Kuttar Koragajanna Katte, Darga near  AB Shetty circle and Sikh Gurudware near Banglakurur.
