
Mangalore, Jun 24: MP Nalin Kumar Kateel on June 24 Friday rubbished Harish Kumar Belthangady’s allegations that he had failed to utilize the MP’s funds allocated by the central government. 

He told reporters that he had spent Rs. 3.61 crore of the funds for development work. He also produced a letter (MPLADCR/40/2011-12/53414), in which DC Chennappa Gowda had clarified that the information provided by Harish to media persons is not true and that the MP has indeed contributed to the development projects, adding that Kateel has contributed Rs. 2 crore in 2009 – 10 and Rs. 1.6 crore in 2010 – 11. The DC’s letter also mentions that the MP has submitted 52 development proposals with the contributed funds.
Further explaining the matter, Mr. Kateel said that the details of the development work done on his contributions need to be updated on the website that is maintained by the DC’s staff. Stating that the staff has failed to upload the details owing to technical reasons, he said that he has requested those concerned to rectify the technical failure and upload the details.
