Naina JA of Deccan Herald chosen for Sarojini Naidu National Award

Mangalore, Sep 14, 2013: Naina JA, Correspondent of Deccan Herald, Mangalore, has  been chosen for the prestigious ‘Sarojini Naidu National Award-2013.’Her special report on Women and Panchayati Raj entitled ‘ Trash to Treasure, Kadaba GP shows the way’, had appeared in  Deccan Herald dated June 9, 2013.

The Award given by the  Hunger Project carries a cash prize of Rs 2 lakhs and a citation. The Award presentation ceremony will be held at India International Centre, Annexe, New Delhi on October 1.

Naina is a gold medalist in Master of Mass Communication and Journalism  of Mangalore University in 2004. She has also served as an editorial staff  of Mangalore Today  magazine for some time.
