Nagara Panchami celebrated with religious fervor across DK

Mangalore, Aug 11, 2013: Nagara Panchami is being celebrated with religious fervor across the district on August 11, Sunday. 


Devotees have been thronging Nagabanas and temples worshipping serpent Gods since morning to pay their obeisance.

Thousands of devotees have been visiting the Kukke Sri Subrahmanya Temple, Kudupu Sri Ananthapadmanabha Temple, and other temples in the district since morning. Long queues of devotees are seen in most of the temples devoted to serpent Gods.

The stone idols and rock forms of serpent God is worshipped by appointing it with Panchamritha including milk, sugar, honey, curds and tender coconut water  and then the same is offered to the devotees.
