NSUI to conduct university - level elections

Mangalore, Sep 22: Congress leader Ivan D’Souza told reporters that the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) will conduct university-level elections at Shimoga Lagna Kalyana Mandir on September 23, Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. He was speaking at a press meet held at the district office of the Congress party on September 22, Wednesday. The president, vice president, secretary, and five delegates of each college will participate in the elections, he added.

He also informed that the Student Union President of Badriya College Abdul Naufal will contest for the post of president with five other candidates. Declaring that Rahul Gandhi has granted an opportunity for all talented students to participate in the elections, he said that students must follow the election rules, which state that each candidate must be a member of the NSUI, pay the membership fee of Rs. 10, and must have the college identity card.

A total of 123 delegates, including 60 from Udupi and 30 from Kodagu, will participate in the elections from DK, he informed.

Preetham Kumar, Nagendra Kumar, Sharan Kumar, Pawan Raj, Prakash Shetty, Aneesh Kumar, and others were present for the press conference.
