Mysterious behaviour of the Bride soon after wedding ceremony

Udupi, May 20, 2014: Are the couples entering into wedlock unable to understand and accept the age old tradition and duties of marriage? Two weeks  after the engagement the Wedding ceremony was solemnized and everything seemed normal.

There was a sumptuous celebration and the guests had just departed from the Kalyana Mantap. When the time arrived for the Bride to be handed over   to the Grooms family, she adamantly declined to go with them and stated she was aware of matters and did not want the Groom as husband! All were baffled at the Brides dramatic behavior.

All reasoning was used to convince her but all fell on deaf ears.  The bride’s parents were in shock, the grooms parents were at a total loss to understand. Efforts were made to reason that the girl was under severe stress and reacted thus, time will be needed to get things in order.  It was a serious embarrassment for both families.

They also resorted to help from the local Police who tried to convince the Bride.  After much discussion and consultation it was decided to give the bride a weeks’ time to think and rationalize – there after the law will take its own course it was said.
