Shekhar L, Convenor of the Dalita Hakkugala Horata Samithi who raised  the issue said the funds meant for development of Naxal hit villages were being used to asphalt a 1.5 km road  leading to Jain Basadi in Savanalu while a road leading to a Malekudiya colony was partially asphalted.

Pointing out at the problems faced by the residents of a Malekudiya colony at Banjaramale who had to pass through a private property to reach their colony, he urged the Deputy Commissioner to construct an approach road to the colony with the help of the funds sanctioned by the government.

Some Dalit leaders resented the use of the terms Girijana and Harijana in official records and even in RTC. Responding to this, the Deputy Commissioner A.B. Ibrahim directed the authorities to take necessary steps immediately.

The sorry state of the quarters provided by  the  City Corporation to its municipal workers at Mahakalipadpu was also brought to the notice of the DC by SP Anand, leader of Dalita Sangharsha Samithi. He said the houses in poor shape are facing collapse this monsoon. Another appeal made was to provide land for the construction of a crematorium for SC STs at Niddodi.

The Deputy Commissioner assured to look into the demands and do the needful.
