Mulki: Young woman dies in bike-car collision

Mulki, Sep 16, 2023: A young woman who was pillion riding a bike lost her life when the bike  which was on way to Mangaluru from Udupi rammed into a car near the Vijaya Sannidhi Junction of the National Highway at Mulki on Friday evening.

 

The deceased is Preethika Shetty (21) of Kasargod. The bike rider Manvith Raj Shetty (21) from Balepuni in Bantwal has been injured and has been hospitalized. The car was crossing the Highway when the mishap took place. The impact of the collision was such that Preethika was literally dragged by the car upto a distance. She died before being rushed to the hospital.

The accident disrupted vehicular traffic on the route for some time. Locals are alleging that the unscientific widening work was leading to accidents.
