Mulki: College student drowns in Shambhavi river

Mangalore, Feb 10, 2014: In a tragic incident reported from Kolachi Kambla in Mulki on February 9, Sunday, an 18 year old youth met a watery grave in the  Shambhavi river, while swimming along with his friends.

The deceased youngster is Jignesh , a student of St Ann’s College of Mulky. He hailed from Gujarat.

The tragedy occurred when Jignesh along with four of his classmates named Prakash, Nitesh, Viral and Sumarling  had gone to the river for a swim.

Sources said  initially Viral and Jignesh were caught in strong currents. Though others who rushed to their rescue, managed to  save Viral, Jignesh tragically drowned.

 It is learnt, the deceased is a I BSc student. A case has been registered by Mulki police.
