Mulki: Bike rider dies in gory mishap on NH 66

Mulki, May 4, 2014: A  macabre accident involving a bike and an autorickshaw  near the Kokkarakal milk society on National Highway 66 on May 3, Saturday night has claimed the life of the bike rider while seriously injuring the pillion rider.

 

The deceased bike rider is Kareem (50), a resident of Katipalla second block. He was heading towards Hejamady Kannangad  form Katipalla when the mishap took place. His son Hafees (13) was injured in the mishap.

It is learnt, Kareem in a bid to avoid hitting a dog which came in the way of the  bike,  collided  against the autorickshaw laden with ice. The bike later hit the divider.Kareem died on way to the hospital.

The slow pace of highway works is said to be the reason for the mishap.
