Mosaru Kudike Celebrations Held with Gaiety Across Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Sep 6, 2025: The traditional Mosaru Kudike Ustav was celebrated with enthusiasm at Kadri, Kottara and Attavar on Saturday as part of the Sri Krishna Janmastami Celebrations.

At Kadri Kambla, the Kadri Sri Krishna Janma Mahotsava Committee organised special puja and mangalarati to the idol of Lord Krishna brought from the Kadri Manjunatha Temple. The idol was later taken out in a colourful procession through Mallikatta to the temple.

The procession featured vibrant Pili Nalike (tiger dance), chende and thase performances, Singari Melam, tableaux and Yakshagana artistes, drawing large crowds.

The highlight was the formation of human pyramids to break pots suspended at a height, while people below splashed water on the participants. Dance bhajans added to the festive atmosphere.

Kadri Star Nights, organised by Kadri Cricketers, was held at the Kadri ground. At Attavar, the celebrations continued with a grand procession till late into the night.
