Moodbidri: Thieves steal valuables worth over Rs 2 lakhs from 2 houses at Kadandale

Moodbidri, Nov 18, 2013:  Thieves who burgled two houses at Tulamugeru and Sacharipete near Kadandale in Paladka GP limits on  November 16, Saturday night have decamped with cash and valuables worth over Rs 2 lakhs.

The first case of theft occurred in the house of one Shanker Alva. The thieves who gained entry into the house by breaking open the main doors, later laid their hands on jewellery weighing 64 sovereigns and a cash of Rs 3500 after opening the cupboards using the keys which they easily found.The  value of the stolen jewels has been estimated at Rs 1,36,500.

Meanwhile, another case of burglary was reported from Sacheripete the same night. In this case thieves stole valuables worth Rs 80,000 from the house of Jalaja . It is suspected that  both the thefts are the handiwork of the same team.

Moodbidri police are investigating the case.
