Moodbidri : Thief jumps off building to escape ; dies

Mangalore, Aug 14, 2013 : A  man from Polali died after he jumped off a building in his bid to escape from getting caught after a robbery attempt.The incident was reported from Moodbidri on August 13, Tuesday.

The deceased is Vijay (35), a labourer in Moodbidri. Sources said Vijay in a bid to steal coins from a coin phone box had been to a commercial complex opposite the market and tried to break upon the box when a someone around  noticed him and chased him.

In a bid to escape, Vijay jumped off the building to death. It is learnt, he had planned to jump to a nearby tree, but fell on the ground. It is said Vijay was an alcoholic and was irregular to his home at Guddeyangady, Kolyadka.

Moodbidri police are investigating.
