Moodbidri: Food safety officials inspect Bedra weekly market, collect samples

Moodbidri, Aug 29, 2026: Following allegations of food adulteration and the use of chemicals in food products, officials from the Health Department, Moodbidri Municipality and the Food Safety and Standards Authority conducted an inspection at the Bedra weekly market and collected samples of various food items.

The officials inspected vegetable and fruit stalls as well as fast-food centres in the market. They checked the cleanliness and food safety standards maintained by the vendors and collected samples from select outlets for testing.

Food Safety and Standards Authority officer Dr Praveen, Municipal Health Inspector Shashirekha and Health Inspector Khader Nadaf, along with other officials and staff, took part in the operation.
