Mobile shop in Hampankatta catches fire

Mangalore, Oct 27, 2012 : Connect Mobile Centre, a mobile shop located near Noor Masjid Building behind Milagres Church in Hampankatta, caught fire early in the morning of Oct 27, Saturday.

The owner of the shop is Santhosh.

Several photocopy machines, 3 computes, and mobile phones have been destroyed in the fire. Although the police and the fire fighting personnel rushed to the spot, goods worth Rs. 6 lakh have been destroyed.

A fruit shop and a canteen, located close by, were also burned, causing a loss of Rs. 6 lakh.

The fire is believed to have started by a short circuit. The Pandeshwar police have registered a case.
