Migratory birds flock Pilikula

Mangalore, Mar 7, 2014 : It’s a whole new world of migratory birds at  the Dr Shivarama Karanth Biological Park at Pilikula in the outskirts of the city.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Visitors to Pilikura are greeted by  around 60 species of birds including  Pond Heron, Weaver Bird, Great Flaming, Hill Myna, Cattle Egret, Malabar pied hornbill, Indian hornbill and grey jungle fowl.

That’s not all. There’s much more including Grey Pelican, Painted Stork, Greater Flamingo, Magpie Robin, Alexandrine Parakeet, Muscovy duck etc.

 There  are even Siberian cranes  at the Park  which are lending their own charm to the surroundings.
