Meteorological department predicts heavy rain in next 48 hours

Mangalore, Nov 26, 2011: The director in-charge, meteorological centre, Bangalore on Friday warned that heavy rain would occur at isolated places over coastal Karnataka.

Rainfall is expected to exceed 65 mm during the next 48 hours. Strong onshore winds from northerly to easterly direction with speed occasionally reaching 45-55 kmph is likely along the Karnataka coast during the next 24 hours.

The climate has been cloudy since the last two days and Drizzle was experienced in several parts of the Coastal Districts including the city on the night of Friday and Saturday morning.
