
Mangalore, Jan 27, 2014 : A 20 year old medical student lost his life when the Bullet bike he was riding crashed against the road divider after bumping over the road hump at Bejai Kapikad on January 26, Sunday. The pillion rider sustained injuries.
The deceased student is Akshay Godi from Bagalkot. He was a student of Bangalore Medical College and was in Mangalore to take part in an old students’ reunion. The injured pillion rider is Sanjeev H Gowda (20) from Hassan. Both had arrived in the city on January 25 and were staying at Kuntikan along with a friend.
It is learnt, Akshay lost control over his bike while moving on the hump. The result was that his bike crashed against the divider leaving him seriously injured.
Though he was immediately rushed to the hospital, his life could not be saved. The injured pillion rider is said to be out of danger. He is a student of Adichunchanagiri Medical College.
Traffic (West) police have registered a case.
