Mayor’s second phone-in programme: Citizens raise several issues

Mangaluru, Oct 27, 2023: Mayor Sudhir Shetty Kannur has said that henceforth MCC officials would conduct a regular inspection of all stalls set up during fairs of religious places in the city limits. He has also assured of suitable action if any stall is found selling unhygeinically prepared food.

 

 

 

The Mayor was responding to a question by a citizen during his Phone-in programme held at his office here on October 27, Friday. On the recent raid by MCC officials to a stall set up during the Dasara fair outside the Kudroli shrine, the Mayor said the officials have seized the goods of the stall and have initiated action.

A resident of Falnir  complained to the mayor that some people dump wastes in front of her house and that no measure has been taken to clear the garbage. She also raised the menace of Dengue and said fogging is not undertaken. The mayor assured to take necessary action in this regard.

A resident from Kavoor complained of parking of vehicles on footpaths.

A resident of Kana in Suratkal complained of parking of gas tankers in residential area. He said no measure has been taken to solve this problem which was raised during the previous meeting too.

The Mayor said a notice has been served and officials would visit the spot on Sunday and initiate action.

This is the second phone-in programme of the Mayor and as many as 26 calls were received in an hour.
