Mass upanayana ceremony held for boys from BPL families

Mangalore,june24,2012:Shree Krishna Dharmopayana Samithi organized a mass upananayana ceremony, during which it initiated several young boys to Vedic rituals. This was its 43rd annual event.
This event was meant for the benefit of young boys from BPL families.

 

 

 

According to the organizers, the boys took part in the event with their parents. They did not have to bring anything or pay any fee to the purohits for this event, they added. 

A religious discourse on Gayathri Mantra was held after the upanayana ceremony.
Prof. M. B. Puranik, VHP leader; Harikrishna Punaroor, former president of Kannada Sahitya Parishad; Aroor Prabhakar Rao, working president of the Samithi; Shubhananda Rao, treasurer; and Sudhakar Rao Pejawar, secretary, were also present.
