Manjeshwar, Feb 24, 2026: A man was forcibly abducted in a car at Pavoor in Manjeshwar, and four persons have been arrested in connection with the incident by the Manjeshwar police.

The incident occurred on the night of February 20. Abdul Rahman of Kombagudi, Pavoor, was allegedly abducted around 10:30 pm by a group that arrived in a car. His wife, Tahira, filed a complaint with the Manjeshwar police.

Abduct

The arrested have been identified as Gafoor (29) of Pavoor Kundapu, Abubakkar Anas (27) of Machampady, Muhammed Shihab (42), and Muhammed Rafiq (27) of Bantwal.

The abduction is reportedly linked to a gold jewellery business dispute. The accused allegedly took Abdul Rahman to Mysuru and were bringing him back when the Manjeshwar police intercepted the vehicle and arrested them.

It is said that Abdul Rahman had taken gold ornaments from the sister of one of the accused for his son’s business and had not returned them even after several years. The group allegedly abducted him over this issue. Both parties reportedly reached an agreement in Mysuru regarding the return of the gold. However, while the group was bringing Abdul Rahman back to his hometown, the police arrested the accused en route.
