Manipal gang rape case: Court extends judicial custody of all 5 accused till July 29

Udupi, July 15, 2013:The Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court here has extended the judicial custody period of the three main accused in the Manipal gang rape case  upto July 29. The three namely Yogish, Hariprasad and Anand were produced before the court on July 15, Monday, as the court had earlier remanded them to judicial custody till July 15.

The court has also extended the  judicial custody of two other arrested namely Harindra and Balachandra, the brothers of Hariprasad and Yogish respectively, upto July 29. But they were not produced before the court.

If the main accused had been lodged in Shimoga prison, the other two who were arrested for destroying evidences, were lodged in Hiriadka prison itself.

The judicial custody period was extended as the investigation officer appealed for a detailed probe.
