Manipal gang rape: Judicial custody of all 5 accused extended

Mangalore, August 12, 2013: The  Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court has extended the judicial custody of all the five accused in the Manipal gang rape case till August 26. All the five of them including the prime accused Yogish, Hariprasad and Anand  were produced before the court on August 12, Monday.

The court had earlier rejected the bail petition of two other accused namely Harindra and Balachandra, elder brothers of the main accused Hariprasad and Yogish,  on the grounds that they may destroy more evidences if bailed out. It may be recalled here that the two were arrested on  charges of destroying evidences of the crime.

After producing them before the court, the main accused were sent back to Shimoga prison,  while the  other two were sent to Hiriadka prison.
