Manipal: Student dies after scooter crashes into divider; pillion rider injured

Manipal, December 4, 2025: A student who had sustained serious injuries after his scooter crashed into a road divider and was admitted to Manipal Hospital, succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Shashank, a student from Manipal.

The pillion rider, Reva Gupta, suffered injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at Manipal Hospital.

The incident occurred near the Manipal Syndicate Circle on Monday night when the two were travelling on a scooter. Both fell onto the road along with the vehicle. Shashank, who was critically injured, later died despite medical efforts, reports said.

A case has been registered at the Manipal Police Station.
