Manipal: School bus driver dies after heart attack

Manipal, June 6, 2024: It has been reported that Alwin D’Souza (52), a resident of Petri, passed away on the night of June 5 despite receiving treatment at Manipal Hospital after suffering a heart attack while driving a school vehicle.

He was a driver for a private English-medium school vehicle in Brahmavar. The heart attack occurred near Perampalli in the evening while he was driving the vehicle. Demonstrating presence of mind, he managed to steer the vehicle to the side and stop it. It is reported that a few children were injured in the incident. A case has been registered at the Manipal police station.
